Out of everything I’ve tried to help process my mental health - therapy, meditation, journaling, more - I’ve found that dance is what brings me most comfort and grace. When it comes to my thoughts or emotions, words escape me. Movement will always found a home in my body. Last last weekend, Jeremy Santos (@jeremylsantos on IG) wrapped up their Creative Conscious Circle. I couldn’t have asked for a better space to be in while I was in Vegas for the summer. Being with Jeremy and the artists encouraged me to reconnect with myself and connect even deeper to my family. They reminded me that you’ll find deeper meaning into everything around you if you really look and listen. This inspired me to finally sit down with my Nana and learn how to sew. The kwentos (stories) that came out of my time with her connected to roots of Jeremy’s lesson - Hixtory/Mythos/Heritage are passed down through conversation.
